It goes without saying that Kabam has produced some REALLY bad champions over the years.
Granted, they’ve created some solid champs as well, but I’ve compiled data from two mcoc forums (MCOC & Reddit), my three alliances, the s*&# show that is global chat, and included my own opinion to reveal the worst champions, by class, for 2021.
I understand the year isn’t over, but I believe the majority of the champions in this list, sans Hulkbuster, will continue to provide very little value for the foreseeable future.
So, if you snag one of these champs, I think the best course of action is to first, consider rage quitting, but then, let your alliance know as they should offer some comfort. Unless they are di*ks.
Finally, I’ve included the Signature and Regular Abilities for each champ, however, you will notice I added the variable “X” quite a bit. For example:
Armor Up anytime the opponent triggers Fury, increasing Armor Rating by X for 6 seconds.
The main reason I added “X” is because the numbers or percentages change based on your champions rank & level. So, including my X values will, most likely, be different than your x values.

Tech Class
#1 Iron Patriot (IP)
Iron Patriot used to be in the Honorable Mention category but since Hulkbuster received his buff, Iron Patriot takes the mantle for worst Tech Champ, and Hulkbuster (HB) moves to Honorable Mention.
I know, I know, HB is good now, but he’s been the worst tech champ for years and I just can’t let him off that easy.
What’s crazy is IP’s signature ability makes him worse. How is that even possible!?
So, he can regen and power gain via his arc overload, but his suit burns out and then your stun, armor ups, and armor breaks are gone. Why?
Also, he provides zero value in War Defense as his Specials and game play are predictably easy to evade, counter, parry, and intercept.
I suppose he can stack armor breaks and has a long stun on his SP2, but why would you use IP when there are SO many other/better champs w/ armor break capabilities?

Iron Patriot’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Arc Overload: IP overloads his suit to its maximum limits, saving his life but damaging the suit
- When Attacked: 10% chance to gain an Armor Up Bugg for 6 seconds, granting X Armor Rating.
- Special Attack 1: 70% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Bugg and reducing Armor Rating by X for 8 seconds
- Special Attack 2: 54% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Buff and reducing Armor Rating by X for 9 seconds.
- Special Attack 2: 74% chance to Stun for 4 seconds.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to Stun for 4.75 seconds.
#2 Hulkbuster (HB) – JUST BUFFED
So, HG was buffed in June 2020 and it turns out he’s pretty awesome now. I stand by this initial assessment, because again, Hulkbuster sucked for soooo long, including half of 2020.
However, I’ve moved him down as an Honorable mention for this year, and as you can see above, added Iron Patriot as the worst Tech champ.
Original Hulkbuster Review
Yes, I know, he’s getting buffed, BUT that doesn’t mean he’s innocent from all the suck he has produced from inception until early 2020.
Since Colossus recently got buffed, it goes without saying that Hulkbuster is by FAR the worst MCOC champ in the game, according to the MCOC masses.
Why you ask? Well, he has zero immunities, does minimal damage, is not fun to play/is clunky AF, and is a terrible defender.
HB does have high levels of health and armor up when the attacker gets a fury, but who cares?!
At this point he’s absolutely worthless and I’m convinced Kabam became inspired to create this piece of junk after watching Short Circuit

-No One-
With all that said, if you end up pulling Hulkbuster, hold onto this turd for now, and hopefully Kabam gets him buffed up ASAP.
Hulkbuster’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Iron Rage: HB’s Armor Rating is reinforced upon receiving damage, increasing up to X based on lost Health.
- When Attacked: 11% chance to gain an Armor Up Buff for 6 seconds, granting X Armor Rating.
- Passive: Armor Up anytime the opponent triggers Fury, increasing Armor Rating by X for 6 seconds.
- Special Attack 1: 70% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Buff and reducing Armor Rating by X for 8 seconds.
- Special Attack 2: 100% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Buff and reducing Armor Rating by X for 9 seconds.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Buff and reducing Armor Rating by X for 10 seconds.
Mutant Class
#1 Deadpool X-Force (DPX)
Any iteration of Deadpool should be awesome, but in MCOC, Kabam has completely abandoned using the word “awesome” in the same sentence as Deadpool X-Force, or any Deadpool for that matter.
It’s a shame because he’s a fan favorite outside the game. Like White Mags, he isn’t the worst player in the game w/ his bleeds and power gain abilities, so there’s that.
It’s just not fun to use him for anything, really… And if there is one champ that should be a delight to use, it’s Deadpool.

Deadpool X-Force’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Duodenum Poke: Permanently bleeding the opponent was granted after poking enemies right in the duodenum, guaranteed to cause Bleed for X Direct Damage over X seconds.
- Passive: Dropping below X% Health grants a burst of 60% Power Gain.
- Special Attack 2: 100% chance to inflict Bleed, dealing X Direct Damage over 3 seconds.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict Bleed, deal X Direct Damage over 5.50 seconds.
#2 Magneto – White Mags – JUST BUFFED
As you now know, White Mags has been buffed and he’s gone from pure boring blah to an awesome champ. As I wrote with Hulkbuster, Magneto Marvel Now has sucked for so long including the majority of 2020 that I’ve kept him on this list but downgraded him as an honorable mention.
As you will see above, Deadpool X-Force reigns supreme as worst Mutant Champ.
Original White Mags Review
This top spot used to belong to Colossus, by a HUGE margin, for a long, looooong time.
I would definitely say White Mags isn’t the worst champion in the game, since he provides a bit of value w/ his bleed effects on any special and Heal Block on SP2 + SP3.
However, A LOT of other Mutant champs offer more than White Mags. Furthermore, his game play is well known, so you won’t trick anyone by sticking him in War Defense.
At least w/ Deadpool X-Force, you can put him on an AW Power Gain Node in hopes he can execute an SP3 against the other squad.
Finally, and this is 100% my opinion and not relevant to the actual gameplay, but he looks like a complete tool in his white costume.

Magneto (Marvel NOW!) Abilities
- Signature Ability – Urgent Refraction: Magneto bends a dense electromagnetic field around his body to crease a personal force field.
- Passive: Enemies reliant on metal suffer X reduced Ability Accuracy periodically throughout the fight.
- All Special Attacks: 55% chance to inflict Bleed, dealing X Direct damage over 10 seconds.
- Special Attack 2: 100% chance to inflict Heal Block, preventing the target from recovering Health for 10 seconds.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Buff and reducing Armor Rating by X for 8 seconds.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict Heal Block, preventing the target from recovering Health for 10 seconds.
Skill Class
#1 Daredevil Netflix (DD Netflix)
Is there a hallway in MCOC? Because that’s the ONLY way Daredevil Netflix would be useful.

DareDevil Netflix is, in my opinion, the worst champion in the whole game.
I hate to say this because the show was rad, but DD Netflix is the opposite of rad. Is he bad? He’s worse than bad…
DD Nets has boring game mechanics, his heavy attacks are sluggish, his specials are worthless, he only has armor break, and once in awhile he will evade projectiles, but usually not.
At least OG Daredevil can auto evade bullets and lasers and stuff. Not DD Netflix.
It’s like projectiles are attracted to him, along w/ punches and kicks and sucking. He’s absolute weaksauce and the best thing Kabam can do is Men In Black us so we forget he ever existed.

Daredevil Netflix’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – World on Fire: The son of Battlin’ Jack Murdock only becomes more determined as he takes punishment, granting him X increased Critical Rating for 6 seconds each time the opponent places a Debuff effect on him.
- Passive: The remarkable suit crafted by Mr. Potter can turn aside knives and gunfire, granting Daredevil 89.47 Physical Resistance against all attacks.
- Passive: X% chance that a Block is a Perfect Block, reducing all damage to 0.
- Passive: X additional Critical Hit Rating.
- When Attacked: Striking w/ honed precision, Daredevil has a X% chance to Armor Break stunned opponents w/ Heavy and Medium attacks, reducing their Armor Rating by X for 15 seconds. Heavy attacks result in longer Armor Breaks.
- Special Attack 1: Critical Hits have a 100% chance to Stun opponents for X seconds.
- Special Attack 2: Critical Hits have a 100% chance to Stun opponents for X seconds.
Honorable Mentions
Daredevil Netflix
Yup, DD Netflix sucks so bad he also wins the honorable mention.
Sure, I could include champs like Falcon, or Karnak, or even Moon Knight, but even though the aforementioned are typically forgotten champs, they offer some value even though its limited.
I think Kabam should seriously consider replacing DD Nets w/ his father, Battlin’ Jack Murdock.

Science Class
#1 Joe Fixit (Fixit)
My first 4* was Fixit. I used him a lot, because, again, he was my only 4*.
Every time I used him, I contemplated selling him as my 3* champs were MUCH stronger and more fun to play.
Even though he is a bottom tiered champ, I ended up selling him, which was stupid. With that said, Joe Fixit is one of the most broken characters in this game.
Sure he has poison immunity and you can stick him on a few nodes in war (you’ll never get any KO’s unless you’re going against a noob alliance), but he doesn’t really have anything worthwhile.
He’s definitely not the worst champ in the game, his tommy guns are neat, but you just can’t rely on Gambler’s Ruin, so I’d say he’s absolutely the worst Science champ for sure.

Joe Fixit’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Double Down: Mr. Fixit runs the tables and gains twice the power from Gambler’s Ruin for a short time.
- Passive: At the beginning of the fight and whenever he lands a Heavy attack, Fixit gains a rando poker suit and lets loose a different aspect of the gamma irradiated gangster he is.
- Passive: An enhanced immune system provides full immunity to the Poisons of the Battlerealm
- Passive – Gambler’s Ruin:
- HEARTS: Joe triggers his accelerated healing abilities, granting X health recovery per minute.
- SPADES: Mr. Fixit’s morally ambiguous at best and knows how to make his punches hurt. Each attack has a 14% chance to Weaken or Fatigue the opponent, reducing attack by X and Critical Rating by X.
- CLUBS: Joe isn’t some dumb brute and he’s smart enough to take advantage of anyone who thinks he is, granting X Critical Rating for each hit of his combo meter.
- DIAMONDS: He may not be as big as the Hulk, but you still won’t like him when he’s angry. Hoe gains up to X Attack based on lose health.
- Special Attack 1: 60% chance to inflict Bleed, dealing X Direct Damage over 4 seconds.
- Special Attack 2: 100% chance to Stun for 3.40 Seconds.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict Bleed, dealing X Direct Damage over 3 seconds.
#2 Rhino
One of the OG champs I believe Kabam has completely forgotten exists. When using Rhino, it’s essentially like using a non-metal version of Hulkbuster.
His fight mechanics are slow, zero immunity to anything, his specials don’t provide any added value and are easy to evade, and he’s just not very fun to use in any aspect of the game.
Rhino does have the Unstoppable Dash, which might catch a few Noobs off guard.
I’m reaching when I say this, but I guess he is usable on a few nodes in war and you’ll likely pick up those Defender Diversity points, since most people won’t be adding him to the AW defensive line-up, right?
Sigh, I just can’t defend him though, Rhino should hit like a freight train and do some serious damage, but he makes as much sense as Paul Giamatti portraying him in The Amazing Spider-Man 2…

-Crazy Paul Giamatti-
Rhino’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Rhino Armor: A thick polymer suit enhances Rhino’s gamma-based strength and resilience, increasing his Physical Resistant.
- Passive: A layer of Armor provides an additional X Armor Rating.
- Passive: Impacts from Rhino’s Dash attacks have a chance to be Unblockable. This chance decreases the bigger the opponent is.
- When Attacked: 10% chance to gain a Fury Buff for 6.50 seconds, granting X Attack.
- Dash Attacks: Rhino becomes Unstoppable when Dashing towards the enemy.
Mystic Class
#1 Unstoppable Colossus (UC)
It’s the Mystic Class so there is a plethora of great champs, and UC far from the worst champ in this game.
However, if someone in my alliance were to ask me how to cure their insomnia, I would tell them to use UC right before going to bed.
He’s insanely boring to use and his game mechanics put me to sleep faster than I can say ambien. UC’s only saving graces are his unstoppable and immunity to bleed and poison.
What kills me is people, ME included, save loyalty chips for a long time and willingly trade them in for UC. I mean, what!?
We legitimately cannot complain about getting Kabam’d when we make the decision to acquire UC and Kabam ourselves! Kabam… You evil geniuses!

Unstoppable Colossus’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Unstoppable: Whenever Colossus starts the fight or launches a Special Attack, he calls upon the power of Cyttotrak, becoming Unstoppable and shrugging of all enemy attacks for X seconds.
- Passive: Impenetrable armor provides full immunity to Bleeding.
- When Attacked: 10% chance to gain an Armor Up Buff for 6.50 seconds, granting X Armor Rating.
- All Attacks: 11% chance to gain a Fury Buff for 5.50 seconds, granting X Attack.
- Special Attack 3: Damage increase by up to X based on Armor.
#2 Juggernaut (Juggy)
This was tough ranking Juggy beneath UC, since UC has poison and bleed immunity and Juggy does not.
I just think Juggs is a bit more “fun” to use, not by much, but he does offer a bit more value as a war defender, and if you dupe him, you actually get shards.
“Praise” aside, like a lot of the tank champs (Hulkbuster, Rhino, UC) he doesn’t put up a lot of damage via his attacks.
His synergies are also pretty blah as well. I mean, here’s the thing… The mystic class, overall, has really good champs. You could do a lot worse if you pick him up, but if you do, just stick him in war defense.
Juggernaut’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Unstoppable: Juggernaut becomes Unstoppable for X seconds, shrugging off enemy attacks.
- Passive: Cyttorak grants Juggernaut X increased Armor Rating. Additionally, at the beginning of the fight, he becomes Unstoppable and shrugs off all attacks for X seconds.
- When Attacked: 11% chance to gain a Fury Buff for 6.50 seconds, granting X Attack.
- Heavy Attacks: 100% chance to Stagger the Opponent for 8 seconds. The next time a Staggered Opponent triggers a Buff, that Buff and all other Buffs triggered at the same time will be immediately Nullified.
- While Unstoppable: Juggernaut is immune to Stun Debuffs and if the opponent attempts to Stun him, he will instead apply his Heavy Attack Stagger to them.
Cosmic Class
#1 Superior Iron Man (SIM)
I know Groot and Kamala are frequently mentioned as the worst champs in the game, but I really believe this is because people forget that Superior Iron Man exists.

MCOC Community: Who?
He doesn’t hit particularly hard and the Armor Ups are “eh” at best. Personally, I don’t gravitate towards champs w/ armor ups, mainly because my goal is to avoid getting hit in the first place.
Plus, so many champs are able to get past armor ups via armor breaks or just a simple bleed or poison.
I suppose he has Arc Overload, which is something, and it doesn’t overheat like IP, so there’s that.
In terms of sticking him in AW Defense, Sim’s fighting style is HIGHLY predictable, and most noobs will be able to evade his Specials and Parry his regular attacks.
Overall, though, SIM really doesn’t add anything new or unique to your line-up, and I’m fairly certain when people read this, they will say, “Oh yeah, I forgot about Superior Iron man.”
Superior Iron Man’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Arc Overload: SIM overloads the Arc Reactor if Health drops below 15% briefly extending his life span w/ a burst of X Health.
- Signature Ability – Arc Overload: While in Arc Overload, SIM also gains an Armor Up for 6 seconds, increasing his Armor Rating by X.
- When Attacked: 17% chance to gain an Armor Up Buff for 6 seconds, granting X Armor Rating.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff, removing 1 Armor Up Buff and reducing Armor Rating by X for 10 seconds.
#2 Groot
No one, and I mean NO ONE, has ever told me they love using Groot. He’s a clunky, weak, boring, crappy twig that you get to pilot in MCOC.
Nothing about the awesomeness that is Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy translates to his role in the game.
As basically every MCOC expert or noob says, he hits like a wet noodle. I mean he should at least hit like a… a solid branch or a staff of some sort?
I mean he should hit like something that would elicit damage, right? But he doesn’t.
I think there are a few nodes you can place him on in war, but for the love of everything that is holy, never, and I mean never, take Groot into AQ or Story mode, unless you really need a champ to avoid bleeds or poisons.
But if I had to choose between bringing a bleed/poison immune champ like Groot or just bringing a champ that hits hard w/ zero immunities. I’m going w/ the latter.
Groot’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Gentle Giant: Groot begins the fight with 2 Pacifism charges. Additionally, each Fury stack gained from throwing off his gentle nature has an X% chance to activate a charge of Resist Physical, increasing Physical Resistance by 234.84 each.
- When Struck by Critical Hits: 100% Pacifism charge gained anytime opponent strikes Groot w/ a Critical Hit or uses a Special Attack against him. Each time a charge is gained, Groot has a 10% chance per charge to throw off his gentle nature.
- Passive: When Groot throws of his gentle nature, he gains one Fury and one Cruelty for each Pacifism charge, increasing attack by X for 10 seconds.
- Passive: Each cruelty effect increases Groot’s Critical Damage Rating by X.
- Passive: Unique physiology allows Debuff effects to be shrugged off X% faster than normal.
- Passive: Bleed Immunity.
- Special Attack 1: This attack pierces X% of the target’s Armor.
- Special Attack 2: Advanced cellular regeneration allows up to X health to be recovered over 6 seconds, based on lost health.
- Special Attack 2: This attack is Unblockable.
- Special Attack 3: 100% chance to inflict Bleed, dealing X Direct Damage over 3 seconds.
#3 Kamala Khan
As much as I hate to admit this, Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel is probably not that bad of a champ.
Sure, she could surely hit harder w/ her fury stacks, but I think she is so reviled by the MCOC masses because she’s just… Dorky?
I mean, her easy to evade, fighting style just isn’t that cool. She’s clearly a cheap rip-off of Mr. Fantastic, and no one has ever said, “hell yeah, I just pulled a Khan!”
I think for once, all of humanity agrees that when you pull Kamala, this is the reaction…

The thing is, there are so many champs, ability-wise, that are far worse than Kamala, but she is regularly rated as one of the worst.
The ONLY conclusion I can draw is that people just don’t think she’s a cool champ to own/play.
And, at the end of the day, why play an awesome mobile app like MCOC and use a blah champ like Khan. Overall, I get it, which is why I added a second Honorable Mention for the Cosmic Class.
Kamala Khan’s Abilities
- Signature Ability – Morphogentics: Ms. Marvel learns some new tricks from the Contest, increasing the strength and duration of her Fury effects.
- Passive: As the fight goes on, Block Proficiency is increased by X for each Fury effect she has active.
- Passive: Full immunity to Poison
- Special Attacks: While Ms. Marvel has 3 or more stacks of Fury, her Special Attacks remove 2 stacks of her opponent’s Armor Up effects.
- Heavy Attacks: While charging her Heavy Attack, Kamala continually gains stacks of Fury to a max of 3, each increasing her attack by X for 10 seconds. These stacks are lost as she is struck during combat.
- Special Attack 1: This attack triggers up to 4 stacks of Fury, each increasing Attack by X for 9 seconds.
- Special Attack 2: 100% chance to gain a Fury Buff for 10 seconds, granting X Attack.
- Special Attack 3: This attack has a 90% chance to grant a permanent Fury effect, increasing Attack by X.
Conclusion
I will make sure to update this list of worst champions throughout 2021 should Kabam buff any of my top choices. Thanks for reading and please feel free to add your choices for worst champs in the comments, below!
